BET, one of Viacom’s six core networks as part of the conglomerate’s rejuvenation, is taking some big swings with its upfront slate. On the scripted side, the African-American-targeted cable network has handed out a straight-to-series order for Kevin Hart-produced comedy Divorce Saved My Marriage; renewed drama The Quad for a second season; and added VH1’s The Breaks and Hit the Floor , with the latter duo picked up for their second and fourth seasons, respectively. The ambitious slate comes as BET currently ranks as the No. BET Her, which will launch Oct. At VH1, we have no plans of slowing down as we launch our newest scripted series starring Vanessa Williams on June 5,” a VH1 spokesperson said in a statement about the future of scripted at the network. Here’s a closer look at BET’s slate: When a couple realizes that divorce is the only thing they can agree on, their attorney recommends a financial plan instead of a court date — forcing them to work together so they can finally afford to be apart. That’s not surprising, as most shows on cable television that prominently feature naked people generate headlines. This time, the reality dating series is getting attention not due to controversy , but instead a cancellation. We haven’t made plans to move it forward to Season 4; we think it’s a great, fun format, we would like the opportunity at some point to reinvent it.
But for right now, we felt the shows and assets that we have made more sense as we head into the year. So, no more Dating Naked until stated otherwise, which should put a damper in anyone’s plans that included Dating Naked Season 4 dance parties.
But it’s difficult to prejudge someone naked.
Oct 16, marymolina I personally love VH1 and all of the shows that it airs. With this new update, if I were to accidentally lock my phone or interrupt the show in any way the entire thing starts over from the beginning and as I fast forward I have to sit through the same boring commercials. It could be better.. Jan 2, Tinkyy This is the main way I watch my shows. But this app has major issues for me. While I’m watching a show, sometimes I have to exit out for a moment and once I go back to continue watching, it either starts over from the very beginning or it makes me watch commercials again.
And then I have to watch another commercial once the regular break comes up. I’m also trying to watch an episode now and it’s telling me “the video is not found or no longer available due to date or rights restrictions”.
So we told a lot of white lies more like stretching the truth. Accidentally fooled a former president of NBC into giving us a job. It all turned out okay because we worked our butts off and made sure we delivered on the big promises we made. Social media and the web have pretty much killed that. Too easy to find out who you really are!
This is finally where the long, in-depth pitch documents come into play.
Amy Ryan December 28, AT If you really like a song or a movie or a TV show, no matter how cheesy the conventional wisdom says it is, you should feel free to say so without guilt, and to defend your appreciation vigorously. It was this sort of writing — passionate discussion of things individual writers cared deeply about — that marked the best of PopWatch for me in Same for Annie Barrett on The O.
Credit here properly belongs to those who inspired me. The new renaissance in stunt reality shows seems to be nudity: Where Naked and Afraid seeks to force contestants to engage with their primal selves in the wild, Dating Naked aims to strip away all the artifice of dating by putting everything out there at once. It forces them to do activities — ranging from boogie boarding to body painting to running around in an inflatable ball — naked. These activities definitely have entertainment value: One of the dates is with each other. In between the dates, the contestants and their suitors hang out in the Jungle Villa, where clothes are optional and beds are abundant, encouraging the contestants to just do the obvious already.
On the final day, the two contestants decide who they want to see again. The fact that these people usually live on opposite sides of the country is not addressed as an issue. There is no money to be won like Survivor , no fame to be earned like Jersey Shore or any show where characters appear in multiple episodes , no true love to be found like theoretically The Bachelor where you get to spend more the 72 hours with someone and no accomplishment about which to brag like Naked and Afraid.
That makes the motivations for competing on this show rather mystifying.
